Welcome Introduction Hello everyone and welcome to Jacki and David’s guide to their 2011 wedding plans, with the big event scheduled to take place on 29 September 2011 in fabulous Las Vegas! We aim to update this site with new information on a regular basis, so please keep checking out the News and Updates page for further information. Jacki and I have been fortunate enough to visit Las Vegas together on two previous occasions and as you’ve probably gathered, we love the place. It’s certainly a unique city and until you’ve been it is extremely hard to explain the type of place that awaits you. To coin a phrase, it really is like a Disney World for adults. We just hope that those of you who are planning to join us for the wedding like the place nearly as much as we do. We appreciate that Las Vegas is an extremely long way to go to attend a wedding, not to mention the cost, but for those of you that are planning to share our special day with us, we’re sincerely thankful and promise to do our upmost to save you any spare pennies or cents wherever we can, while hopefully helping to ensure you have a holiday of a lifetime! For those of you that won’t be able to make the trip, we’re really sorry that you won’t be there with us, but of course we completely understand that a 5000 mile trip is not practical for a number of reasons. Nevertheless, we hope that we’ll be able to catch up with you all on our return when the (tentative) plan is to host some sort of party in the Leeds area where everyone will be welcome to attend.
Following our previous trips to Vegas and through the countless hours we’ve spent scouring the Internet to find cheap airfares and good hotel deals, we hope to be able to share some of this information with you to ensure you get the best deal possible. There really is an art to making sure you get a good deal!
Wedding Gifts We’re adamant that we won’t accept any form of wedding presents or gifts, so please don’t even consider being kind and generous (even if it is in your nature) as we’ll simply return any nicely wrapped boxes, vouchers, money, toasters or fondue sets back to you - capisci!? This ‘threat’ is obviously meant in the nicest possible way, but we just wanted to make sure we got the point across. However, we do hope that by saving you some of the usually incurred wedding costs, this may help in persuading some of you that a trip to Las Vegas might be a little more justifiable than otherwise; consider it a form of friendly blackmail if you like.
